their consequences. As noted in that module, employees
may be found to use illegal drugs on the basis of any
appropriate evidence, including, but not limited to: Direct
observation, Evidence obtained from an arrest or criminal
conviction, Verified positive test result … and Employee's
voluntary admission. After a finding, employees are removed
from Sensitive positions. Security notifications are made,
and disciplinary actions are initiated. And, employees are
referred to the EAP. Supervisors are usually involved in these
actions, but the primary responsibility for discussing
mandatory referrals and referrals in lieu of termination will
belong to others in personnel servicing, labor and employee
relations, or human capital.
