<p class="main"><B>CHICAGO, October 4, 2000</b> - Svoboda, Collins L.L.C. today announced that it has sponsored the recapitalization of World Data Products, Inc. ("World Data" or the "Company"). Svoboda, Collins partnered with Bank of America Capital Investors and management to complete this transaction. World Data, based in Minnetonka, Minnesota, provides new, used and refurbished midrange computer and networking equipment to corporate end user customers and broker/dealers throughout the United States.

<p class="main">World Data provides multiple midrange computer and networking equipment platforms including IBM AS/400, IBM RS/6000, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems and Cisco Systems. The World Data product offering ranges from complete systems to individual parts. The Company also offers a wide range of services to complement its product offerings, including technical support, repair, systems management, network management, consulting and training.
</p>
<p class="main">Through a technically skilled, platform focused internal sales force, World Data markets its products directly to corporate end user customers and broker/dealers throughout the United States. The Company reduces customer equipment cost and lead time by inventorying reliable, refurbished computer systems and parts that can be configured to meet customer needs. World Data operates from a 40,000 square foot headquarters and distribution facility located in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

<p class="main">Svoboda, Collins and Bank of America Capital Investors intend to leverage World Data's strong reputation and market leadership in the refurbished midrange computer and networking equipment market to substantially increase the company's revenue. The firms also expect to enhance current operations and to facilitate the company's strategic expansion through the experience of its principals and advisors in similar businesses.
