<div id="content-main">Steckman Studio of Music was founded in 1979 by Dr. Harry Steckman and his late wife Claire. The organization was incorporated as a non-for-profit in 1982 with the mission to share the joys and benefits of music with students of all ages and backgrounds regardless of their financial circumstances, believing that music is for and in everyone. Since that time the Studio has paired with more than 35 different institutions in collaborative projects, which make musical literacy, mastery and performance accessible to hundreds of under-served youth. Currently the Studio trains approximately 150 tuition-based music students each year from their facility in Oak Park, and more then 4500 through performances and outreach programs in 7 Oak Park Elementary Schools (working with Hephzibah�s After-School Daycare Program) and both Oak Park Middle Schools, at Seguin Services in Cicero, at Windy City Kids in Chicago administrated by Easter Seals, at Prairie Lake School in Forest Park, and with Hephzibah Home (Foster Care Center) in Oak Park. Steckman music programs are designed to be educational, therapeutic and encourage personal growth. Several Steckman alumni are current teachers for Steckman Studio of Music. Steckman Studio of Music is particularly proud of its record for helping students gain acceptance to a four-year University.</div>
