The interior designer for this young North Shore family requested a painted floor design for the entrance foyer and central gallery of their home, that would stand up to their three young boys and black labrador too.
The owners wanted the floor to be low maintenance and long lasting to withstand the high traffic in the entrance and central hallway area.<br><br>
The lines of the house were classic, but the family preferred more contemporary furnishings with some Chippendale influences.
The designer indicated something clean and simple.
We created a fairly intricate design, but increased the scale and painted it in a slightly transparent dove white finish to tie in with the trim.<br><br>
The clients were thrilled with the final result.
It is happy, new and fresh when you walk in the front door!

Painted floors are a perfect solution for high traffic residential areas: foyers, dining rooms, hallways or kitchens.
Some of our painted floors have been in place for over 20 years!<br><br>
Our work is done in collaboration with a flooring contractor.
Following the initial staining or preliminary varnish, we apply our artistic skills, and then the final protective coats of varnish are added.
Should the floor begin to wear slightly through the years, we recommend having it professionally cleaned and resealed with an additional coat.<br><br>
Floors provide an opportunity for many design possibilities: to add color, define an area or add structure, create marquetry/stone-like inlays or add whimsical and fun touches.
It is a very unique and creative way to enhance a space.
