<p>Studio History</p>
<p>
Celebrating its 25th year in Chicago, Simes Studios carries on the traditional art of fine decorative painting.
In the manner of the famous Renaissance workshops, the studio is a synthesis of the individual artistic talents and specialties of a group of fine artists.
Beginning as apprentices they progress to senior artists skilled in the diverse aspects of their craft.

Located in an elegant, renovated stable in Bucktown and unified under the direction of Cindy and Jorge Simes, the studio had its beginnings where the couple met in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
There they studied traditional decorative painting techniques and produced their first commissions.
In 1988 they moved to Chicago and soon began Simes Studios.
Since that time they have blossomed into a growing business with a full time group of professional artists and support staff.

The studio is known for their singular style and attention to detail, incorporating historical references, cross-cultural influences and striking visual effects into their custom work.
Their many specialty techniques include eglomise, murals, custom glazed and textured finishes, trompe l’oeil, venetian stucco, stenciling, gilding, custom mirroring and etching, faux bois and marble, painted furniture and floors.

<p>
The artwork can be seen nationally and throughout the Chicago area and is usually commissioned through leading architects and interior designers.
The majority of the projects are in private residences, with some commercial work in restaurants, lobbies, schools and retail spaces.
The studio claims an impressive list of clients and an accomplished portfolio.

Simes Studios specializes in finding innovative ways to create a contemporary aesthetic incorporating current and environmentally friendly materials while paying respect to revered art techniques and the exceptional quality of the past.
Through individual attention, they bring to life a client’s vision and customize each project to create a unique and truly memorable space.
