We will hold an SCCM business meeting at 11:00 AM on Wednesday 18 March in Room 519, and all interested parties are invited to attend. <P> <B> 1998 APS FELLOWSHIP NOMINATIONS </B> <P> The deadline is 1 April 1998. The nomination form, curriculum vitae, and supporting letters should be submitted to Executive Officer APS, One Physics Ellipse, College Park, MD 20740-3844, Attn. Fellowship Program. Please indicate that the nomination is for SCCMTG. The forms may be obtained by writing to the above address, e-mailing to: <A HREF="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</A> or downloading from the APS website: <A HREF="http://www.aps.org">http://www.aps.org</A>. <P> <B> 1999 TOPICAL CONFERENCE </B> <P> Our 11th biennial conference will be held at Snowbird, Utah, 27 June-2 July 1999. Conference co-chairs are Rob Hixson (Los Alamos) and Lalit Chhabildas (Sandia). Details can be found on the SCCM website accessed through (<A HREF="http://www.aps.org">http://www.aps.org</A>). The first announcement will be mailed 1 March 1998; abstracts are due 15 December 1998. <P> <B> 1999 SHOCK COMPRESSION SCIENCE AWARD </B> <P> The deadline for submissions for the 1999 prize is 1 July 1998.
