<p>This training program requires that you make a commitment to doing what it takes to
prepare yourself for your functions as a company officer.&nbsp; The knowledge, skills, and
abilities you will gain from this program will be directly proportional to the level of
effort you put into each week's modules.</p>

<p>I will not be grading your performance, you will and the people you lead.&nbsp; The
key to this program is you throwing yourself into each week's work.&nbsp; This active
learning program is designed to allow you to practice the skills you will be expected to
perform as a new boss, so practice now.</p>

<p>Each week you will have to perform several tasks to complete the module.&nbsp; The
tasks will be to:</p>

  <p>1)&nbsp; complete each week's reading assignments, <br>
  2)&nbsp; perform the activity of the week, <br>
  3)&nbsp; and post your comments in the class discussion forum that answer my questions
  about your performance on the activity and the weeks readings, as well as to offer a
  comment each week on your peer's postings.</p>

<p>This page consists of several navigation aids for the course.&nbsp; The syllabus is
general &quot;road map&quot; for the entire nine module program.&nbsp; Included will be a
course schedule and overview of each week's completion requirements.</p>

<p>You should also make sure that you have received all of the course materials
that are a part of the fees you paid for this training program.&nbsp; You should
have two texts, Steven Covey's <b><i>7 Habits of Highly Effective People</i></b>
and Patrick Maher and Richard Michelson's <b><i>Preparing for Fire Service
Assessment Center</i></b>, a CDROM that contains the latest version of
Microsoft's Internet Explorer, Adobe's Portable Document Reader program, and
multiple files that accompany and support this training program.</p>

<p>You will also be able to jump to various components of the course such as weekly
activities and the discussion forum.&nbsp; There will also be a &quot;Webliography&quot;
section that will have some links to sites on the net that may prove beneficial to you as
well.</p>
