<p><a id="example4" title="Music classes" href="images/programs/music.jpg"><img class="left" alt="Music classes" src="images/programs/music-thumb.jpg" /></a>In addition to a comprehensive academic curriculum, all of the girls receive music lessons. They are jointly enrolled in a local music school and adhere to that particular school’s relevant course of study. Solba’s gifted girls have performed in places such as Red Square in Moscow and Volkov’s Theater in Yaroslavl.</p>

<h5><a class="manual" href="images/programs/arts.jpg" title="Painting on glass" target="_blank">Arts</a></h5>
<p><a id="example4" title="Painting on glass" href="images/programs/arts.jpg"><img class="left" alt="Painting on glass" src="images/programs/arts-thumb.jpg" /></a>At the orphanage, girls are taught studio and performance arts at a professional level. They are given the opportunity to work with a variety of media, from paper to glass to a selection of special paint. Many of the girls prove to be genuinely artistically inclined. The walls in the orphanage are decorated with the children’s work. In addition, the girls are actively involved in a number of crafts, such as embroidery, beading and a number of other creative ventures that employ paper or any other materials donated to the monastery.</p>

<h5><a class="manual" href="images/programs/animation.jpg" title="Master class by Alexandr Petrov" target="_blank">Animation</a></h5>
<p><a id="example4" title="Master class by Alexandr Petrov" href="images/programs/animation.jpg"><img class="left" alt="Master class by Alexandr Petrov" src="images/programs/animation-thumb.jpg" /></a><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleksandr_Petrov_%28animator%29" target="_blank">Alexandr Petrov,</a> a 2000 Oscar Nominee, artist, and animator was invited to Yaroslavl for the purpose of further developing the children’s artistic dexterity. He held a series of master classes in animation, which resulted in the production of the cartoon "The Story of a Bell", a collaborative effort between the children of Solba and Alexandr. His visit to Solba inspired an idea for a future project, to create a series of animated motion pictures on a religious subject matter ("Twelve Feasts") to be used as auxiliary methodical material for Orthodox Culture studies in public schools.</p>

<h5><a class="manual" href="images/programs/convent.jpg" title="Monastery Tour" target="_blank">Mosaics</a></h5>
<p><a id="example4" title="Monastery tour" href="images/programs/convent.jpg"><img class="left" alt="Monastery tour" src="images/programs/convent-thumb.jpg" /></a>Recently, the girls participated in the creation of several mosaics, which have been exhibited not only in the monastery, but also at international exhibitions in Moscow and Italy. The girls were also given the responsibility of organizing monastery tours, which proved to be a great exercise in communication and sociability, skills that will be of great import when they grow to be working adults.</p>

<p><a id="example4" title="Christmas performance" href="images/programs/theatre.jpg"><img class="left" alt="Christmas performance" src="images/programs/theatre-thumb.jpg" /></a>Furthermore, students participate in Performing Arts and Drama classes. During the holiday season, the girls warmly welcome their visitors and guests with festive performances. They are all very extroverted and spirited girls who not only enjoy performing for others but also like eloquently sharing their thoughts on the arts, recounting stories about their activities and life in the monastery.</p>
