<p><img src="images/nycmarathon_11/medical_projects.jpg" alt="The Moscow Center for Children’s Maxillofacial Surgeries" title="The Moscow Center for Children’s Maxillofacial Surgeries" width="270" border="0" align="left">The <strong>$2500</strong> that you raise will be put towards funding the reconstructive surgery of a youngster who is handicapped by unsightly facial disfigurements. There are an overwhelming number of orphans and impoverished children whose medical needs cannot be met neither by the State nor by local hospitals. The medical expertise and technology required to undertake intricate facial surgeries are a rarity in Russia. <a href="http://rcws.org/programs_medical.htm#beauty">The Moscow Center for Children’s Maxillofacial Surgeries</a> among the few hospitals in the entire country that is properly equipped and staffed to help children who have sustained facial traumas or who were born with congenital facial and cranial abnormalities. The waiting list for gratis surgery at The Moscow Center is very long and, understandably, families put off treatment for lack of funds. Help a child gain the confidence to smile and happily embark on his or her future!</p>
