<p class="paragraph_style">The following Pyrite specimens are all from the Carlin Trend, Eureka Co., Nevada.<br />The Pyrites are referred to as Arsenian due to their Arsenic content along with the presence of Gold. As noted on the Geoscience Website, "The Carlin-trend in Nevada hosts some of the world’s largest<span class="style"> </span>Au deposits, reaching a maximum of about 40 million ounces in<span class="style"> </span>the Betze-Post-Sreamer deposit.<span class="style"> </span>Most of the Au is associated with very fine-grained<span class="style"> </span>arsenian pyrite containing up to 1 wt% Au that forms rims on<span class="style"> </span>earlier pyrite or solitary, porous aggregates. These large concentrations<span class="style"> </span>of Au have not been observed directly, an attribute that has<span class="style"> </span>led to the term "invisible" Au being applied to ore in Carlin-type<span class="style"> </span>deposits."<br /> Each Pyrite is extremely bright and extremely lustrous. If you think the pictures look too bright, just wait until you see the specimens.<br /></p>

On a bed of snow white, druzy Quartz sits a grouping of 3 semi-transparent Calcite crystals. This Calcite cluster measures 2.25 x 1 x 1.25" with all of the crystals in great shape. There is a contact at the back of the uppermost crystal, but it is in the back and not noticeable from the display face. Under SW, the Calcite crystal fluoresces an bright red.<span class="style_1"><br /></span></p>

<p style="padding-top: 0pt; " class="paragraph_style_1">The fossils is a pair of fossil shells, SCUTELLA FAUJASI. They have been covered by a sandstone conglomerate and then split in half. All of the shells are a white and brown color with the sandstone being a tan color. All of the fossils show a circular banding around the shells. These specimens are 40 million years old and are from Trefumel, France.<br /></p>
