which this ministry shares responsibility:</td></tr>

through faith alone, according to the apostolic witness in the Holy
Scripture, preserving and transmitting the Gospel faithfully to

<tr><td colspan="3">The Constitution, Chapter 4.02e describes the following purpose for
which this ministry shares responsibility:</td></tr>
<tr><td colspan="3">Nurture its members in the Word of God so as to grow in
faith and hope and love, to see daily life as the primary setting
for the exercise of their Christian calling, and to use the gifts of
the Spirit for their life together and for their calling in the
world.</td></tr>
<tr><td colspan="3">Some of the programs offered include:</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td colspan="2">YOUTH FELLOWSHIP GROUP</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>The Youth Group is for 7th-9th graders. Gatherings are basically once a
month, except during the summer months.</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td colspan="2">OUTDOOR CLUB</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>A hiking group for all ages that meets monthly on a Saturday to
hike trails, or hike to and/or tour historical places.</td></tr>

<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>A fellowship group for adults with varied events throughout the year that
attend plays, Friend to Friend Event for Shut-In Members,
Progressive Dinner, Christmas Caroling for Shut-in Members, etc.</td></tr>

<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>Although not strictly a fellowship group, but an auxiliary of the national
church, Redeemer Women of E.L.C.A. is women interested in the
stewardship of time, talent and money to support the many projects
and interests of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. They
meet once a month on the third Tuesday evening.</td></tr>

<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>Volunteers are asked to supply baked goods or fruit for a special fellowship
time following the worship service each Sunday. Hostesses are needed

ministry shares responsibility: Serve in response to God's love to
meet human needs, caring for the sick and the aged, advocating
dignity and justice for all people, working for peace and
reconciliation among the nations, and standing with the poor and
powerless, and committing itself to their needs.</td></tr>
<tr><td colspan="3">This ministry seeks to fulfill this purpose with several programs,
including the following:</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td colspan="2">1. OUTREACH TO CONFINED MEMBERS</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>All of the tasks listed under this category represent
ways in which members of Redeemer care for one another.</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>A. Shut-In - Our shut-in members would enjoy a
visit from a fellow member for sharing and support</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>B. Convalescing/Recuperating Members - Often
people recently discharged from the hospital and recuperating from
an illness or accident need some help for the first week or so.
Those tasks needed most often are listed on the Response Form.</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>C. General Ministries to Confined Members - Take
worship flowers on Sunday or Monday to hospitalized and/or confined
members (sign up in narthex); remember confined members with cards
during hospitalizations and on birthdays and holidays; perform
repair chores on an as-needed basis for members who are unable;
provide transportation on an as-needed basis; relieve a caregiver
for the purpose of necessary business or recreation (training will
be given); prepare food for families in crisis and deliver it to
them.</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td colspan="2">2. OUTREACH INTO COMMUNITY</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>Christian Action Group - a sewing group that
does various projects including making blankets for Lutheran World
Relief. You need not be an experienced sewer; cutting and pinning
also needs to be done. The group meets on the second Wednesday of
the month, beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending with sharing their
lunch together.</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>Annual Ingathering - Each year congregations
throughout our synod gather gifts and monies for distribution to
community agencies and organizations at Christmas. What is needed
are people to help collect, sort and wrap the gifts given by members
of Redeemer.</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>Lehigh Mission District - Volunteers are needed to help in the office
at 36 S. 8th St. Monday through Fridays, whatever time you can
offer. Answer phones, do filing, run a copy machine, record
reservations, etc.; your help is invaluable.</td></tr>

<tr><td colspan="3">The function of this ministry shall be to provide the necessary support
for the other ministries of the congregation. Such support includes
the maintenance of the property of the congregation, and the
maintenance and increases of the financial support of the Operating
Budget, including this congregation's full indicated share in
support of the wider ministry being carried on in its behalf by the
E.L.C.A. and the synod, and all other financial involvement of the
congregation and its organizations, including the auditing of the
accounts. The Stewardship Committee shall be an extension of the
ministry for the purpose of working with time, talents and treasury.</td></tr>

fulfillment of this purpose, this ministry offers the following

in proclamation of the Word and administration of the sacraments and
through lives of prayer, praise, thanksgiving, witness, and service.</td></tr>
<tr><td colspan="3">To accomplish this purpose, the Ministry of Worship
schedules the many members who participate in the various roles in
worship, and maintain the worship center.</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td colspan="2">1. WORSHIP LEADERSHIP POSITION NOTES:</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>a. Eucharistic Minister (Individual who takes Holy
Communion monthly to homebound after Sunday Worship.)</td></tr>
<tr><td> </td><td> </td><td>b. Lector - Reads the two lessons during worship. The Bulletin for the assignment is
mailed on Monday for your adequate preparation.</td></tr>

receives the offering and assists communicants.</td></tr>

ushers, bread providers, etc. and, by phone, contact individuals to
schedule them for worship services for one of the aforementioned
tasks.</td></tr>

pocket-pita bread 6-7 inches in diameter.</td></tr>
