Areopolis Spaceport

Areopolis Spaceport is a relatively new complex, dating only to the 47C, but the modernity cannot conceal its essential nature, which is a giant holding bin for nervous and tired people who are not yet where they want to be, and whom other people are delaying for incomprehensible reasons. The city government likes to call it the Gateway to the Stars. For those who use it, however, the poetry tends to wear off by the fourth visit.

If you don’t actually have a flight to catch, there’s not much to see. You can watch shuttles taking off; you can look at maintenance mecs as they bustle round on the tarmac. There’s a snack bar which serves food whose major and only attraction is that it’s not a half hour’s monorail ride into town.

If you actually want to go somewhere, well, this is where the simulation ends— you’ll have to buy the book.
