The family assembled here is based on census enumeration practices, and therefore requires proof. In 1870 she was enumeratred with Anna Rebecca Temple's family of Saunders, but Anna's death certificate said her mother was Sarah, and that she was apparently unmarried to Anna's father, said to be Joseph Wilkins. Based only on timing, she might be the wife of John Temple, and therefore mother of Hanna and Ruth Anna of Kennett, PA in 1880. However, the family records indicate her marriage to Tom Callie caused her to be banned from Indian Territory, which was not MS. She appeared in the census in August 1870 in Jones Co., MS.<sup><a href="sources.htm#4587" class="lnk">4587</a></sup> She a full blooded Choctaw.<sup><a href="sources.htm#4588" class="lnk">4588</a></sup> Lydia died.<sup></sup> She is buried across from Bryan Oil Field in the Bogue Homa Community, in back of 196 McMillan Road, Laurel, MS. Her Choctaw relatives called her Ginny or Jinny. Her parents are unknown. A descendant provided some insights into Lydia's genealogy, writing that family records show she was banned from the reservation in Indian Territory because she married a "white man name Tom Callie." The story, related by her descendant Mary Baum <[email protected]>, went like this: "Lydia was a member of an Indian Tribe that was relocated to Chjerokee, OK. There she became incolved with a white man installing telegraph cable. This man Tom Callie [sic] was the reason Lydia was expelled from the tribe. Lydica and Tome Callie left OK and travelled to VA. In VA, Tom and Lydia separated. She then met Thomas C. Bryant and both returned to MS. Their only child, Virginia, was to have children and (Lydia, the mother] later married Wm Temples. (She [the daughter] married Lorenzo J. Temples.)" TEMPLE(S) Sr.<sup></sup> were married about 1834 in MS.<sup></sup> The marriage to William Temple(s) needs proof, and is based on the proximity of the families through numerous moves.
