The daughter of William H. and Elizabeth (Parke) Temple was not born in 1811, but 1850. The only Lucy related to Mildred Elizabeth Parke, wife of William H. Temple, of Bloomington, IL, was Mildred's mother, who was born about 1800 in VA, and who was living with William and Mildred Elizabeth in the 1870 census. I think, therefore, that the Luce genealogy must mean that Albert Luce married Lucy G. Parke some time after Mildred Elizabeth was born. According to the Luce genealogy, the couple had no children, but Lucy had already had Mildred Elizabeth in 1817. It was she who married William H. Temple. Since she survived past 1850, when Luce married Lucinda Dawson, I suspect that he and Lucy were divorced.<p>She was one of the earliest settlers if McLean Co., IL.<p>The truth about Lucy is - somewhat obviously - somewhat muddled. I wanted to than Patricia L Schley, David Davis Mansion, <[email protected]>, for her scholarship in researching her and her relations. I include her note below because it may help others trying to trace Lucy and Albert Henry Luce.<p>"I am a researcher at the David Davis Mansion in Bloomington IL (www.daviddavismansion.org). For the last 7+ years I have been researching, transcribing and annotating the voluminous correspondence of David & Sarah Davis. David Davis was a close friend of Abraham Lincoln, rode the IL 8th Judicial Circuit with him for 11 years, served as Lincoln's campaign manager in the 1860 election and was appointed a US Supreme Court Justice by Lincoln in 1862.<p>In the course of this work, I have also studied the various citizens of Bloomington IL mentioned in the correspondence, one of whom was Dr. Albert Hull Luce. In your entry for "Lucy G. 5665, 5666, 5667," <p>"In fact, he married a Lucy B. Parke on Dec. 12, 1845 in McLean Co. IL. See http://genealogytrails.com/ill/mclean/marriage_groom_l.html which lists Marriages for McLean Co. IL. From other documented sources, I have found this site to be extremely accurate. This Lucy B. Parke is a shadowy figure at best. She does not show up in census records, I have found no death or burial records of her, yet she appears to have been gone before 1850, less than 5 yrs. after their marriage! Dr. Luce remarried to a Lucinda Dawson on May 14, 1850 (again, see the list at the website above). Where did she go? Did she die in childbirth and did the child die with her? There is no record of a child. Were they divorced? Did she just leave him? <p>"I find no record of a Lucy G. Parke either. Lucy J. Parke was the mother of Mildred Elizabeth [Mrs. Wm.
