Her family relationships in 1880 were difficult to figure out based on the 1880 census. She is listed as the second mother of William Thomas, and his claim for parental birthplaces indicates that of the two mothers, Anna is probably the right one. That means she was married to the father of William Thomas in 1855, when William was born. However, in 1880 she was enumerated with another son, a brother of William Thomas, whose name was Robert Temple and whose age was 39.
