Because most of our family lived around England, I visited in England regularly. I would see Seldon the teenager in the drug store where he worked half days while attending high school. We dated for quite a while. On Sunday afternoons, he would come out to our house at Geridge on the Greyhound bus, if his family needed the family car, or come out by car if they did not. We almost married as kids. Then the war came along and Seldon became a pilot in the Marine Air Corp. He was sent to the South Pacific. He quit writing when he left Arkansas. He later married a girl from Pittsburgh, but that marriage failed after producing seven children. Then, Seldon lived alone for 31 years up north and just did not return home. In fact, no one even knew where he was for a long time.<p>Seldon did not know what became of me, not even what my married name was, or even where I lived. I did not know where he was, or whether he was still married or even alive. Bill, my husband, had died in February of 1985. We were married for 41 years and had a good marriage. But, at that time in 1991, he had been dead for six years. My cousin, Bobby Lynn Henderson, told me she had taken her mother-in-law, Aubrey Henderson of England and Seldon's mother, Josie Henderson, to Memphis to meet the airplane when he had come home the year before in 1990. She also said he was not married. I asked his Aunt Aubrey for his address and then wrote him a short note. Seldon called every night for a month, then, came back to Arkansas on May 22, 1991. We were married on the same day he came back home in 1991 at the Lonoke Baptist Church. We had a great time traveling and going places for reunions and such.
