Her parents came from St-Jean-Port-Joli QC near the border of Maine. They settled in the U.S. in 1880 and their eldest daughter Emma married in Lewiston, Maine in 1893. Their having been near and around Maine, and her sister's birthplace strongly indicate the greater likelihood that the place was Maine, but that requires proof such as a birth record.
