"I have been researching the William Greenwood family, and can see that you have made the assumption that others have made, based on the 1900 census information, that Cynthia Greenwood was born Cynthia Temple.  That is not the case.  It can be easily verified by checking Massachusetts Vital Records that Cynthia Greenwood was born to Joshua & Nancy Upham, May 7, 1858, in Templeton, MA. She married William Greenwood on Aug 23, 1880.  Both the Upham family and Luke and Mary Temple resided in Fitchburg at the same time.  Cynthia's mother died in 1866.
