At one time, based on the 1920 census's identification of her son Alva as the grandson of George and Martha Tomey, she was identified as Mattie Tomey. However, the obituary of William F. Tomey, known to be their son, did not mention Mattie as a sister. However, she was buried in the Tomey plot in Lake Creek Cemetery. The confusion certainly arises in part from Frank's having married Maggie (Tomey) Temple, his brother Ernest's widow.
