Specifically, Hilda Temples was not mentioned, and it appears that the Howard mentioned was given as James H. in the 1930 census. There is a further discrepancy, in that J.C. Temples was said to have predeceased Wilson, but he actually died a year after Wilson. Also, Betty Joyce should have appeared with the family in 1930, but did not. However, the locations and timing are too compelling to consider them separate families.<p>His mother was given as Ollie Temple in his transshipment papers to Europe in WW1, and she was living in Newville, AL.<p>He was illiterate and gave his mark in his WWI draft registration. This is in part the source for the confusion over his birth year.
