We do know that he claimed his parents were both from MS. Also, his proximity to Lorenzo J. and James Abner Temple(s) indicates he may be closely aligned to them. I believe that he must be an early son of William Temple, the father of Lorenzo and James, but probably not by his wife Almedia. The tie to William Sr. is fairly certain, since they were designated as Senior and Junior, living next door to each other in 1860 - the issue is the identification of his mother. Timing makes that most likely was Lydia Cauley, but his father, William b 1819 MS, would have been very young, and it is not at all clear that he actually married Lydia.<p>His son Daniel's obituary said Daniel was survived by a brother named Mack - but Mack was not found with the family prior to 1880.
