Temple, Hamilton Temple and Manuel Temple were called to give evidence before the grand jury on 24 Jul 1857. According to the indictment of the grand jury, Benjamin Temple, on 21 Jul 1857 'with force and arms...feloniously, unlawfully and maliciously did set fire to and burn a certain dwelling house, the property of Allen A. S. Temple.' ....On 29 November 1859, the prosecutor discontinued the action against Benjamin Temple, since the Allen A.S. Temple family had by then moved to Texas. (Jack). His parents were both from MS. Also of interest, he and his wife are given as surname TEMPLE, but when his children are enumerated on the following page of the 1900 census, they are given surname TEMPLES. In 1910, however, he appears with the terminal S himself. In 1930 appears without the terminal S.<p>The Patton-Temple family Bible gives an Andrew Jackson Temple a death date of 22 Jan 1904, but this is clearly not Jack, as he lives on for two more censuses (at least ) after 1904. Much work needs to be done to clarify the families of the apparent brothers John and James Temples.<br>I think it is likely that Anise was actually female, and was later given as Inez when she married a Campbell in Stoddard Co., MO.
