There is something confusing about the William B. Temples known in Smith County, TX, and part of this could be resolved if William Byston did not die, but divorced Izella Sloan/Stone prior to 1860. He then could readily be the one who married Elizabeth Dunn in 1867. William has reference number RLT # U1733.<a href="sources.htm#26263" class="lnk">26263</a> There is something not right about the records with William Byston Temple. I suspect that this is really two people, for the following reasons. First and foremost, his military service says he died on 12 Jan 1848. If that was to mean he was discharged, then that might be understandable. Also there is something inconsistent with his appearances all over TN, MS, AL, TX - it might be he was two people in different locations. Finally, there is his late "second family" with Izella. There was a marriage in 1867 in Smith County between a W.B. Temple and Elizabeth Dunn, and I think that is the same man who married Izella. Having said that, if they are indeed the same person, and the death date can be resolved, he was a wide-ranging man. They weren't the same man - the probate records of Andrew Dunn list the children of W.B. Temple and his wife, Elizabeth (Dunn) Temple as William G., James H. and Elizabeth E.
