They might be even more closely related, given one of Mary Phillips' sons, Isaac, had a middle name of Cannon.  I do not think the two Williams are the same person, nor were the Henry or John Henry sons the same person - in the sons' case, they were enumerated in different states by 1870 and had very different occupations.
