This may well be a false lead due to the commonness of John Berry as a name, but the family had members who ventured at least as far as TN by the early 1800s, and thus could have been in MS as well. My selection of Pearl River Co., MS, as the location is based on similarity of the modern county name to the location of the land office in 1806, given as west of the Pearl River. I should note, however, that the original records were probably difficult to keep lined up, as one source puts the land on the Amite River, and the other on Beaver Creek.</p><p><hr><a name="P156377"></a><b>W.
