She was apparently married to Girardier first, as a Roberta Girardier was enumerated in the St. Louis, MO, Sanitarium in Apr 1940 and said to be married, ae 25. Based on the ages of the children of Roberta who married Schowalter, and because no Roberta Schowalter was found in 1940 in OH, this marriage was apparently a second and later marriage, probably after the Apr 1940 census.
