In his 1918 draft registration, he gave Sarah as his next of kin. She was apparently his wife, though not so designated, because they both lived at the same address. If so, then Sarah was the mother of his children. Something then happened to Sarah, since she was not in the 1920 census, where his wife was Meda. Since he was enumerated with Elizabeth in 1910, and their children were Ella E. and Edna M., I suspect that Leroy was an adopted son, and possibly Mildred was an adopted daughter, by Sarah's first marriage. But this gets even more confusing - his wife Elizabeth's death certificate in 1957 said she was married, and that she was married to O.E. Temple. Further, he was the informant on her death certificate. However, in her daughter Edna's death certificate, her surname was Dapp, and she was apparently married to Frank Dapp. All of this may point to two different O.E. Temples who were in close proximity to each other for many years. Parents: Thomas Jefferson TEMPLE-22757 and Emma A.
