I have another old news clipping related to her first husband Archibald Ray. It appears he ran away to sea at a very young age and was known for telling harrowing sea tales, including a particularly bad storm in the South Atlantic. I have several other old clippings my grandmother found in a shoe box she found after my grandfather died. Unfortunately, many of the clippings do not have the name or the date of the paper included. Temple, of Westmont Borough<p>Mrs. Mary Melissa (Temple) Schrimser, who had been a resident of Johnstown for the last 52 years, died of heart trouble at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Morgan, 1292 Franklin street, Roxbury, between 9 and 10 o'clock this morning, aged 83 years. Mrs. Schrimser lost her eyesight two years ago. She was able to be about until two weeks ago, when she suffered a heart attack.<p>The deceased was born in Coatesville, Pa., a daughter of Thomas and Hannah (Wistler) Temple. She was a sister of Charles H. Temple, of Westmont and John E. Temple, formerly of this city, now of New Jersey. The deceased was married twice. Her first husband, A. L. Ray, passed away here in 1885. Her second husband, Fred Schrimser, expired February, 1924. Mrs. Schrimser is survived by five children, 24 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two brothers, a stepson, Frank Schrimser, of Wilkinsburg, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jessie Edwards, of Scranton. The sons and daughters are C. L. Ray, of Horner Street; Robert Ray, who is in the West; Mrs. George Wentz, of Conemaugh; Mrs. Ernest Morgan and Edward Ray, both of Roxbury.
