In politics he is a Republican, he has been an assessor for nine years. He is a director in the National Bank of Granville. In<br>November, 1865, Mr. Temple joined the Baptist church in North Hebron, and has been clerk for many years, and is now. He has been Sunday-school superintendent of some<br>three terms, and is one at present. He is one of the liberal supporters of the Baptist society. Mr. and Mrs. Temple are active workers in the temperance cause at South Granville, and he has been president." However, her marriage to Karr in IL makes it very difficult to also have married her last husband English and to have died in Washington, DC, 10 years after the 1885 census. The Find-A-Grave memorial (128641423) also says she went by Lucy Bird, but there was no evidence of that in other records. The conclusion is possible to reach, but seems unlikely.
