The date is approximate, as it is the date of the issue of the Richmond Gazette, containing the death notice. Rise of the Temples created a problem with incorrect dates for his birth and death. His dates forced me to conclude a second generation of Liston Temples existed, but there was no proof. I believe now that the problem rests completely on bad information in Rise of the Temples, and that the dates presented in Lucy Temple and repeated in Temple People Vol. II are correct.<p>Some sources indicate that the senior Liston had no issue. If so, then this Liston Temple must be a son of one of the elder Liston's siblings. He died before September 1819 at the age of 29 in Nashville, Davidson, TN.<sup><a href="sources.htm#111768" class="lnk">111768</a></sup> Research by Janet Stocks, <[email protected]>, shows that his last will and testament was written in May 1819, and his estate was sold at auction on 30 Sep 1819. There seems to be confusion over the Liston Temples, and research by Janet Stocks, <[email protected]>, pointed out that the husband of Harriett Robertson died on the date shown in 1815, so he cannot be Captain Liston Elliot Temple, also of TN. His will lists the wife and children shown here, as well as his brother William and his father-in-law Duncan Robertson.<p>One possibility is that this Liston Temple is the son of another Liston, b 1766 in Caroline Co., VA, and about whom I know little more than he apparently died 8 Oct 1804. However, that Liston would have been properly placed to be the father of this Liston, the husband of Harriet Robertson. This is a conjecture and would require proof.
