Buried in Pleasant Cemetery, Wapello, IA. Research by Russell S. Lynch revealed some serious inconsistencies about the actual date of his death. According to Russell, the Wapello burials place his death on 30 Aug 1858. This is almost certainly a mistake, marking the probable time of the movement of his body from Louisiana to Iowa. The burial in Iowa possibly occurred on that date. The family Bible gives a date of 21 Mar 1851. However, his will was proved in Wapello Co., IA, 10 Apr 1850. A newspaper of 5 Apr 1850 reported his recent death. Possibly the Bible date is off by one year, but this is not clear.<p>According to the 1847 census, he may have had one more male child, or the date of Thadeus' birth is misreported. There were 7 males under 30 in the 1847 census, and there were not that many known sons.
