The uncertainty is apparently in the recollection of the person reporting the birth some time later. The birth records date was given by a cousin, Mrs. Thora Mara in 1943, who may have confused Laura with her sister Julia or an unknown sister. However, in a second record, the ME birth records say a daughter was born 2 Dec 1895 in Bath, and was the 5th in order of the children. Although nothing more is known of this fifth child, it would appear that the records have confused a couple of the children. Since Laura Jean was known to have married in 1907, the 1885 date seems much more nearly correct than having her married off at age 12. She was not found at all as Mary in OH in 1900, but she was found as Laura.<p>The given name of her parents is from her marriage records, so her father's given name, Warren, appears to be in error. She may be the Laura Mary Temple who married Andrew P. (or T) McGevor in 1910 in East Liverpool, based on her unusual combination of name, location, timing, and her rmother's given name. There were few Laura Temples of similar age in OH, much less East Liverpool (in fact, no other was found in East Liverpool.)
