Temple, and the conclusion that Dixon and Richard were the same person. Kizziah appeared in the census in June 1900 in Washington, Bradley, AR.<sup><a href="sources.htm#5692" class="lnk">5692</a></sup> Enumerated next door to Charles W. Temple and his family. I cannot link her to Charles directly, but the proximity reflects a potentially close relationship. She appeared in the census in April 1910 in Washington, Bradley, AR.<sup><a href="sources.htm#7069" class="lnk">7069</a></sup> She appeared in the census in February 1920 in Washington, Bradley, AR.<sup><a href="sources.htm#65919" class="lnk">65919</a></sup> Kizziah died in 1944 at the age of 83 in Hermitage, Bradley, AR.<sup><a href="sources.htm#110120" class="lnk">110120</a></sup> Buried in Holly Springs Cemetery, Hermitage, AR. Given as Casiah W. Tempel in 1880.<p>By 1900, she had had 4 children, all of whom survived. Her parents were from AR (father) and AL (mother) in 1900. By 1910, she had had 6 children, all of whom survived. In 1910, her parents were both from AR.<p>Her presence in this family is a matter of lack of alternatives, some deductive reasoning, and therefore requires proof.<p>She may be related to the line of John Henry Temple, whose son Charles Edward married Sarah Creed. Turns out, Kizziah was enumerated in the household of Micajah Creed, Sarah's father, in 1870.<p>The problem though is that there are too many possibles, though the best one is Loyd Benjamin Temple and his wife Mary Susan Jane Parker. For instance, Stanmore Butler Temple and his wife Elizabeth Hickman had their last known child in AR in 1862. She could also be the daughter of Altimont L. and Sarah Whitesides Temple. The three of them are almost as viable, but the leading candidate would seem to be Benjamin Loyd and Mary Parker Temple. The problem is how to prove it.<p>The best proof available is the 1870 census. She does not appear in the families of Stanmore Butler or Altimont Lafayette Temple. The family of Benjamin Loyd Temple, however may have been in TX when she said she was born. However, that family suffered from the death of Benjamin Loyd in 1865, and his youngest son, Loyd Temple(s), said he was born in AR, where his mother may have returned after her husband's death. That might well mean that Kizziah was born in TX, but moved back to AR when she was 1 or 2, making AR the only home she would have known. Her family's absence in the 1870 census is a problem fro proving her relationship with the rest of the family, despite a strong circumstantial case.<p>An alternative viewpoint is that of Fred Hargis, who wrote me that "I guess I assumed Benjamin L. Temple would have gone to Texas with Hardy's Regiment to fight in the Indian Wars alone, leaving pregnant-with-Loyd Mary and the other children behind in Bradley Co., Arkansas with relatives to watch over them. Mary may have died as a result of the birth of Loyd complicated by the death of her husband Benjamin. Or, Mary and daughter Mary may have died of an illness together between 1865 and 1870."<p>While the reporting path can no longer be traced due to an out-of-date e-mail, Barbara Logan received an e-mail from Kip and Tonya Reep in 1999, wherein the write said "My mother's father's mother was Kizziah Eugenia Temple (daughter of Benjamin Lloyd Temple and Mary Mahalia Susan Jane Parker)." On the face of it, that would seem to be pretty good proof, short of an actual document.<p>Another fascinating thing about Kizziah came up in researching her in 1900. It may be coincidence, or it may be because of (then) known family ties, but in 1900, Kizziah Eugenia Temple, a descendant of John Henry and Sarah (Judge) Temple, was next door to Charles Wiley Temple, a descendant of Thomas Fairly Temple, whose ancestry has seemed to be a dead end. Turns out, the reason I was looking at Charles Wiley was his next door neighbors - Robert Semple and Kizziah Eugenia (Temple) Powell. I finally convinced myself that Kizzie was the daughter of Benjamin Lloyd and Mary Susan Jane (Parker) Temple. I don't show the two lineages as related. Kizzie is related to John Henry and Sarah (Judge) Temple, originally of SC. Charles W., on the other hand, is of the line of Thomas Fairly Temple. Turns out, John Henry was born the same year as Thomas Fair, and so are at best cousins rather than siblings. That would mean potentially that John Henry's father, whom I know only as John b 1758 VA and d aft 1838 in AL, could be the grandfather of Thomas Fair Temple, through an unknown son.
