It seems pretty certain, therefore, that this Kate was not born a Temple, and the marriage to Frederick Lindey was not her first marriage. There are few candidaes, and she seems to be Katie Ehrhardt, wife of Thomas Temple.  But that doesn't seem to be the case, as they were found together in the 1930 and 1940 censuses.<br>There was a Catherine Lindsey, keeper of a boarding house, in Norwood, Hamilton, OH, in 1930, and she was the right age and divorced, but no children or other context to tie her in.  She, however, was not found as a Temple in 1930.<br>But there may be a reason for that.  There was a Katherine, b 1866 OH, who appeared in 1930 in Hamilton, Butler, OH, as the widow of a Settles, and mother of one Albert Settles, b 1884.
