He again retired and an hour later he was disturbed a second time and found a man trying to remove the window screen. Mr. Temple grabbed his revolver, and as he was about opening the balcony door the would-be thief fired a 38-calibre bullet through the door. The bullet just grazed Mr. Temple's right thigh and struck the wall and fell flattened to the floor, where it was later found, When Mr. Temple reached the balcony the fellow had made his escape. Mr. Temple found a man standing beside his bed at midnight a few weeks ago."
