While Olivia Jane is buried with him, and has a death date of 2000, indicating her status as a last wife, he was enumerated with his children in 1940 when Ruby C. was his wife. However, it was Olivia Jane who was given in the WWI draft registrations as being married to John Carroll Temple, who served in WWI, despite her age being 8 years old When he shipped out to Europe in May 1918, he gave his wife's name as Minnie. There is obviously a problem here, but it is not clear how to resolve it.
What may have happened is confusion of this John Carroll Temple, son of Alexander Wilbur Temple with John C. Temple, son of John Carroll and (Unknown) - whose dates are compatible with those of this John Temple, but then their wives are in conflict. It's pretty clear there is confusion among the wives, at a minimum, and possibly with John's parentage.
Possibly related to David A. Temple, b 1879, also enumerated in Linden Heights, OH, in 1920. His association as the son of John Carroll Temple is based on location in the 1930 census, and on their names. This requires proof. There was another John Carroll Temple, son of Alexander Wilbur Temple - whose dates are compatible with those of this John C. Temple, but then their wives are in conflict.
