There were a number of small villages with similar sounding names, so it was not possible to assure the place was Caledon versus Clogher, Clonoe or a place which has since been lost.<br>The lack of specific date is an artifact of the form and its language, which forced the date to be "on or about" - so it might have been exactly 1 Aug. Based on that, I have reconstructed what I think I understood, but cannot figure out exactly what relationship Robert is to Margaret, and therefore John.<p>Cemetery records helped a bit, but not completely. He was buried in Acacia Memorial Park (Masonic), Modesto, CA. However, also buried with him was a John Amos Temple, b 14 Feb 1836, who could be his son, but is too old to be the son of Mary Cummings. Hence, I had to assume an earlier wife for John, but it may be that the cemetery records mistook a close relationship of John AMOS to be John Amos TEMPLE.
