Could this union never have been consummated?<p>Job Temple was born in Maine, his wife was Elizabeth (?) born in British Providence. He appeared in 1870 as Joseph Temple, and his wife was given as Isabel). Their children were Abigail, Edgar, Soloman, Ginette, Lucy, and Levi. Job Temple was a shoemaker in Concordia, Kansas. His tombstone only had a date when he died, May 17, 1888, and said he was 77 years old. Vera Miller believes it possible all three of these people are the same person but has been unable to prove it.<p>The Levi Temple genealogy contains a conjecture that two children were born of Joab and his first wife Mary Ann Emery. The conjecture is based only on geography. While it seems that Lucy was one such child, with no alternative parents, the James enumerated in Pittsfield in 1870 cannot be their son because of his claim to have been born in Scotland.
