I think, because of his proximity, age and no other viable alternatives, that he was Francis P. Temple. Shortly thereafter, Francis enlisted in the CSA for the war, from West Feliciana Parish. I can't find another F. Temple anywhere in MS or LA that fits - despite the slight difference in given age. But then I looked at folks who were also in MS and then moved to LA, and I found a family that broke up a bit before the 1860 census. I found Jesse R. Temple and Mary R. Scott, who married in 1841 in Copiah Co., MS, were both in LA in 1860. Mary was enumerated on her own with a bunch of Kellers, who were related to her by her earlier marriage. Jesse was enumerated with his second wife in Trinity, Catahoula, LA, as a carpenter. Interestingly, F. Temples was, as I said, also in Catahoula Parish in 1860, and his occupation was "wood worker," which might be something he picked up from his father. Add to this that Francis P. claimed his parents were both from NC, which is probably a guess, and Mary Scott was from SC. I think that Francis P. Temple belongs as a child of Jesse and Anna Temple.
