There are numerous overlaps of people and dates. Considerable confusion exists over Jesse Hutton Temple and his ancestry. The confusion stems from irresolvable differences and contradictions between and among Levi Temple's Some Temple Pedigrees and Albert Temple/Danny Smith's Rise of the Temples.
For his part, Levi probably came the closest when he assigned Jesse Hutton Temple (generation 6), b 2 Oct 1811 as the son of Isaac and Catharine Hutton Temple (generation 5), on page 269. First, this assignment explains his middle name using standard naming conventions. Then, he screws it up on page 274 by assigning Jesse Hutton to generation 5, and as the son of Thomas and Wilmath Doty Temple - in other words, he is the brother of Isaac, not the son of Isaac. This is completely at odds with the family and dating of Thomas and Wilmath's family on pages 264-265. However, one could stretch the timing of the issue of Thomas and Wilmath to encompass a birth in 1811, but it is a real stretch. Despite the inconsistency, Jesse Hutton seems to fit most properly under Isaac.
Then enter Danny Smith and Albert Temple. Using their numbering system, they introduce Jesse Hutton as # 116, b 1811 as the son of Thomas, but indicate he is generation 4. They also give Isaac as generation 4 and their number 115, just preceding Jesse Hutton, and as the son of Thomas, making him the brother of Jesse Hutton. But Isaac's issue are given as Myra, Milton, Tillotson, Chalkley and Jesse. No further information is given on this second Jesse, however. Moreover, the birth dates for the two lines they continue, those of Milton and Tillotson, are 1805 and 1838 respectively. Isaac was long dead in 1838, so Tillotson is either (a) not born in 1838, or (b) not the son of Isaac. Research has shown that Tillotson's birth date was 1814, and that Albert and Danny misdated him. The inconsistencies in Albert and Danny's rendition lead me to favor Levi's presentation of the facts. However, this should not be taken as proven.
Parents: Isaac TEMPLE-5194 and Catherine HUTTON-5400.

Spouse: Jane Cennick (Jane) PATTEN-5406. Writing about the problem of smallpox, Clark wrote "On my arrival I found some thirty eight cases of the disease and some of these in an advanced stage, lying among their fellows in the prison barracks.
