Delia Scifers/Seifres is associated with him through cemetery information and the death certificate of James Leonard Temple, though in the latter she is given as Elvira. Alice Berry is associated with him because she was the mother of Stephen Alexander in the latter's death records. These two women overlapped, apparently, and so there is some confusion here. The full set of children is correct, since they appear together in the 1880 census, but by that time, Amelia was his wife.
Therefore, it may be that Alice Berry was the mother of William M., John and Stephen. Delia would then be the mother of James L. and Charles Noah. Amelia would be the mother of the rest, as shown. That is how things have been lined up, but this arrangement requires proof. He was clearly James S. Temple when he married Almeda Kennard. There are at least four possibilities for which James he was. One was the son of Francis M. and Keziah Temple born 17 Jun 1865 in Fayette Twp., OH. A second was James C. Temple, son of James and Mary (Taylor) Temple, born 3 Sep 1865 in Cambridge, OH. He was the only James enumerated with a birth year of 1864 +/- 5 years in the 1880 census in Jefferson, Guernsey, OH. But his occupation looks wrong for the James who married Almeda Kennard. The third James D, son of George washington and Elizabeth (Sensabaugh) Temple. The fourth
was James M. Temple, son of David and Elizabeth (Wentz) Temple, born Feb 1874 in OH. The most likely are the first and last listed. The first, because he was known to have had an unknown wife, and the parameters for that wife loosely fit Almeda's information. The third because he is the least known of the three James, so almost anything could be the case with him, and because his birth date is the closest to that of Almeda's.
