The bearers were: Arthur Temple, Lynn Temple, Carl Temple, M.D. Dennison, John Nichols and Alfred Swart. Interment was in the Ashville Cemetery. Among those present at the services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Temple and Mrs. Hiram Temple of Wellsville. She married him around the time of Lou Etta's marriage to Sam Copeland, or about 1916-1917, but that all requires proof. SSACI also says he was going by Harold and that entered his Social Security papers in Jun 1942.  Harrison is already accounted for in at least 1930, and Harrison was not in AL at that time.  The marriage papers for his marriage with Zellar Peterson gave his name as Herman H. Temple.  So, the conclusion is that Hiram H.P. Temple was going by Harold in 1930 and 1940 (possibly what the initial H stood for), and was the husband of Zellar Peterson. On 29 Oct 1944, he was aboard the USS Irwin (DD794) sailing out of Ulithi Atoll for Pearl Harbor, as a passenger and survivor of the sinking of the USS Princeton (CVL23).
