Enumerated in 1880 as an adopted son, his actual birth location was unknown, and his relationship to the Jenkins, other than by adoption, is not known.  The only family known in the Pellville area in 1870 and 1880 was that of William Noah and Sue (Lafoe) Temple, and Guy does not appear to be their son.  However, William Noah Temple had a brother, Taylor G. Temple (1851-1874) who was certainly old enough, in the right county, and might otherwise be a good candidate for Guy's father, but his marriage, if any, is not known.
