I don't think he is the son of Christopher by Adaline Ludlow.  Christopher may have had an earlier marriage, and George might be a grandson from that marriage, based strictly on timing.  However, no such child showed up in the 1850 census for Christopher.  So, perhaps the relationship was that of cousins, but the proof of it lies in England.
