She wrote: "In the will of Michael Temple written in 1820 and probated in Feb 1830. He mentions a beloved grandson John Coon Temple to whom he leaves $10 when he is of age. I have only seen transcripts of the will which read John Boon Temple. I think this is a misreading. I am also wondering if this child is actually John George Coon Temple. I note that in April 1817 George Coon Temple, an orphan and one of the sons and heirs at law of Peter Temple is committed to Christian Coon until he reaches the age of 14. Christian Coon is Rachel's brother who was born in 1789. The wording suggests that there may have been two sons, George and John, but so far I have found no evidence of this. Peter Temple died intestate. The administrators of his estate were Christian Coon, Michael Temple Jr., and Samuel McClure." The Michael Temple mentioned was Peter's brother.
