But his point of origin is elusive. He died about 1780 at the age of 45. Robert Temples, a major researcher on this line, believes that this was the Frederick killed at Buford's Defeat in May 1780. This is based on records that probably relate to his son and grandson, not him. However, it was his son James who fought at Buford's Defeat, which makes it tempting to suggest it was the younger Frederick, son of this Frederick, who was there. Robert Temples believes that it was Frederick b 1758 who stayed on the farm during the Revolution. Frederick served in the military in 1780. Possibly fought and died at Buford's Defeat. He lived in Prince George Co., VA.<a href="sources.htm#89825" class="lnk">89825</a> Joyce Temple Barnett reported a common concern about the proliferation of Frederick Temples (plural) and the lack of clear records to differentiate them, particularly in Prince George County. This family is constructed from available records, but probably is missing several children. To avoid further confusion, we are relatively certain that Frederick Temple that was killed at Buford's Defeat was not the same as either of the Fredericks in this family.<p>I suspect that this Frederick is, moreover, a close relation to Needham Temple, b. 1732. Alternatively, however, is research done by Robert Temples. He wrote "We suspect that he is descended from the Prince George County Group of Temple's. William 1662-1729 had four sons, Samuel, William, John, and Thomas. Samuel's line is fairly well documented with no Frederick born around 1725. Thomas has some unnamed son in 1726 which could be Frederick. Parish records were destroyed from that time period and we are still hoping a will, probate, or family records survived. William has a son Epps that Lucy well documents, but little else shows on children. John is said not to have married or had children. So, where did my Frederick born around 1725 come from?? If the naming patterns were followed then Frederick may have been named after his mother's side (Chamberlayne)."<p> Parents: <a href="b2447.htm#P41652" class="lnk">Frederick TEMPLE-41652</a>.</p><p>Children were: <a href="b3164.htm#P34135" class="lnk">James A.
