The following was supplied by the researcher on this line, Laurel Wanrow:<br>Etta and Will were married in Puyallup, where both had been living. He came in 1883. Newspaper abstracts note that relatives went to visit the Starkeys in Puyallup in Sept1891 and Everett in May 1897. According to Will's obituary, he had been a resident of eastern Lewis County since about 1898. So presumably they settled close to her family, who had moved to the Tilton River Valley in 1886. The obit also notes that will had engaged in lumbering and millwright work, being employed at Eatonville, Morton, Meskill and other points. We assume Etta was a homemaker. They had 4 children. She died at 39; she had tuberculosis and got the flu. Their two older children remained with their father, but the younger girls were adopted by her sister Lillie Mae and her husband Fred Broadbent. There was no cemetary in town yet, so they buried her on the hill at the farm. When the Temples (including the Broadbents and Starkeys - married daughters' family names), the Tom Hopgoods, the Knittles pooled their money to start the Morton Cemetery, they dug up Etta's grave and reburied her there. She was the second person to be buried there, after Tom Hopgood's wife. Hopgood's wife and Gus' wife, Tillie died within 6 months of each other, so this would have been about 1910.
