In 1840, he was next door to Holden (ae 20-30) and two from Andrew (also ae 20-30), who may be younger siblings (he was 30-40).  But just what his relationship was is not clear.<p>It makes sense, in the ordering of the 1840 census, that Dedrick was the son of Frederick, but this requires proof. By the same token, there were three Irene Temples, none of whom fit the parameters for a marriage to Delbert Temple before Oct 1942.
