On 28 Feb 1942 he was reported as part of a contingent in port with power boats at Pearl Harbor to report to Combasefor. Effective 1 Dec 1942 changed rating to MM2C. Changed rating to MM1C 1 Aug 1943. Transferred to Receiving Station, San Francisco 24 Sep 1943. Received aboard the USS Oglala (ARG1) 7 Oct 1943.
