At one time, he was placed with Henry and Katherine (Rhode) Tempel as their son, based on Katherine's obituary in which he and his brother Henry were named as living across the street from Katherine in 1910. He may also be related to Adam b Aug 1841, husband of Cadanath, who had at lease 6 children and were the right age to be the parents of Adam.<p>But the known information is confusing. If there was only one Adam, then his parents were given as Adam and Barbara - no surnames, so it was not possible to tell if he was the son of Adam and Barbara (Werle) Temple, or Adam and Barbara (Diehl) Temple. In his obituary, he was survived by Mrs. Mary Riepe (sister b 1865), Mrs. Ed Chaney (sister Elizabeth b 1859), and Mrs. Edith Hannah (sister b 1876), and they were all associated with Barbara Werle as their mother. <p>His birth date fits in a gap in the children of Adam and Barbara (Werle) Temple's family and is well off the mark for being the son of Barbara Diehl Temple. If he is truly related to Henry (1869-1952, husband of Lena) Temple, then he is not the son of Adam and Barbara (Diehl) Temple, since their son named Henry was much older than the one who married Lena. So, placement with Adam and Barbara (Werle) Temple would therefore be tentative and requiring proof such as a birth certificate.<p>His wife's obituary probably holds the key. In the 10 Jul 1919 News-Democrat, in Paducah, KY, Anna Temple was the wife of Adam Temple, Sr., and she was the daughter of Henry Tempel. If Adam were the son of Henry and Katharina (Rhode) Tempel, then he married his sister. This probably means there were at least two Adam Temples of similar age and location, and with a number of similar facts, and one of them was the son of Adam and either Barbara (Diehl) or Barbara (Werle) Temple.<p>Appeared with Germanic spelling in 1910 and in Find-A-Grave, but with English spelling elsewhere. Temple in IL. Marriage records show him marrying Florence Mae or Ray Bender in 1915, but his wife Emma's obituary said Emma married him on 14 Feb 1909. However, in 1910, he and Emma claimed 9 years of marriage in the census. In Emma's obituary, Albert died before her and never married again. So, it might be easy to say that there was a second Albert S. Temple who married Florence Bender, but Albert and Florence were enumerated together in Freeport, IL in 1930 and 1940.
